Philosophy for Children (P4C)

BIJAK conducts P4C or Philosophy for Schoolchildren at all levels – Kindergarten, Primary (Elementary)
and Secondary (High School) – in Indonesia and other countries of the Asia-Pacific region.

We firmly believe that it is important, from a young age,
to stimulate the intellectual and ethical development of children who will be the leaders of tomorrow.

P4C Kindergarten

BIJAK conducts P4C Kindergarten (or Doing Philosophy with Kindergarten Children). Our programme trains Kindergarten children to apply philosophical skills (logical reasoning, critical thinking and conceptual analysis) to daily life situations.

P4C Primary

BIJAK conducts P4C Primary (or Doing Philosophy with Primary schoolchildren). Our programme trains Primary schoolchildren to apply philosophical skills (logical reasoning, critical thinking and conceptual analysis) to daily life situations.

P4C Secondary

BIJAK conducts P4C Secondary (or Doing Philosophy with Secondary schoolchildren). Our programme trains Secondary schoolchildren to apply philosophical skills (logical reasoning, critical thinking and conceptual analysis) to daily life situations.

A philosophical education is 'useful and effective in ... building an individual's personality, fighting against feelings of failure in school or of personal failure, preventing violence, educating people to live together in and through debate and to be citizens in a democracy, linguistic mastery in the interaction between thought and language, learning to engage in personal, critical reflection,
independent judgement, communicating technical knowledge and self-discipline.'
